You place the WAD, for the forwarder you want to install, in the WAD folder. After you've installed it you may delete it from your SD card.

Then you need the boot.dol for the program the forwarder points to.

Example, you want to install a forwarder for WiiMC. You'd places WiiMC.wad in SD/wads. Now, after you've installed that wad you can then delete it from the SD card (it's now on your Wii instead). Next you make sure you have SD/wiimc/boot.dol, this is the place your forwarder will look for the app.

Depending in what kind of files you'd have to pack it into a wad and install it. I would strongly recommend reading up more on the subject before attempting such though because an improperly generated wad can brick your Wii.

I don't understand what you just said, if you're asking "can I load a channel without installing a wad?" Then no. A channel has to be installed and you can't install it if it's not a wad.

You can load Homebrew using the Homebrew Channel without having to install extra channel wads.

Let's stop using "a channel" for now.

Stop being vague. Tell us exactly what you are trying to do.

Yes, you can use the app through the homebrew channel. As long as you have the boot. Dol in the folder and folder named appropriately. Also, make sure to put that folder in the apps folder., which is on the root of the sd card.

No, you don't have to install any channels you don't want to install, it's your choice.
