Help! I'm a newbie & there are several things I don't understand....
I have looked at the tutorials & read until my head is about to explode! The Mauifrog guide/tutorial says to Read the guide at least 3 times! It doesn't matter how many times I read it, it doesn't make sense if you don't know what the terms mean or how to do what is asked of you in the first place! I clicked on that one because somewhere on this site someone said that the Mauifrog post had more info for those less experienced. Less experienced that who?? A computer programmer? HUH?
Well, it says "Have 350 free blocks of nand space" but it doesn't tell me where to find out if I have that much or what NAND means!
Then it says "Format SD-CARDto FAT32"But doesn't tell me how to do that or where to find out how to do that!
Then in Part 2 it says to "Install Bootmii as Boot2" but it has no further instructions on how to do this!
This is the part that really confuses me: In Part 3 it says to "Make a NAND backup, (NOT optional, do this)" But it doesn't say exactly what that is or how to do this. Do I use an SD card? Do I have to somehow hook my Wii up to my PC with some kind of cord??? How is this done? What do I click on on my Wii menu to start this process? Then it says to "Load HBC (I assume that means Home Brew Channel) and press -Home- (Home on what? Wiimote?? On screen??)
Please, someone, help me!! I need simple, step-by-every-single-step instructions! Where can I find them before my head explodes? All my son wanted was to use cheats for Wii Play Tanks & this has turned into a nightmare! Help! Please!
Thanks so much but I still have some questions??

format an sd card... well ever formated a diskette? same idea I know just dated myself. google can help Yes, I did what I think was called formatting the disk when we couldn't get it to load Letterbomb the first couple of times we tried this but it wasn't "FAT32"! I have no idea how to do that. And does it really matter what kind of SD card I use? I started this process before I found this website (my son was using youtube vids, aargh!) & we bought an SDHC card. Am I going to run into trouble? Should I get a different one?
Bootmii as boot 2, gets done when you install homebrew channel it part of that sequence. bootmii will either install as boot2 or IOS depends on your system. Well, like I said, started this before I found this site. We did install HBC but we don't know which Bootmii it used. Is there a way to find out? My son clicked on the Bootmii link on HBC this morning (had no idea what he was doing) & it sent our screen to black, wiimote wouldn't work & blue light was flashing on Wii. When that happened I searched until I found this site. Bluphant helped me figure out what to do with that this morning. Then I started reading the site & found I didn't know enough to finish this. So we don't know where to go from here. But you have helped me figure some stuff out. :)
click on the SD icon on the screen if you are on 4.1 or 4.2 it will ask to load boot.dol or .elf click yes. next bit simply sit back and wait. Ours is 4.3U, does that make a difference? Also, how do I know if I have an older or newer Wii? I mean, we bought it used a couple of yrs. ago & thought it was old then. But we did have to send it to Nintendo to fix once just after we bought it. Do you think they upgraded it to the newest version?
Nand backup part of bootmii. uses sd card for info storage. no cords no messing around just your sd. Did the HBC/Bootmii already save something on my SDHC card on install? (If so, what do I do with it? Save the files to my PC? Leave on SD card?) Or do I need to do something extra? If so, what? Is there a guide/tutorial on this site for this? I could not find one but I'm not sure I was looking correctly.
Thanks again you have been most helpful. You saved my sanity! :)
