ios236 Installer V4 by Dr.Clipper

IOS236 is a patched version of IOS36 that makes installation of other IOSes easy, even if the other IOS slots are filled by stubs already.


This is especially easier than the
4.3 modding method of installing IOS41. This app requires to be launched
via the HomeBrew Channel v1.0.7+ in order to work properly.

If your Wii is not connected to the Internet, you need to get NUS Downloader from this page on your PC then (using the Pack->WAD option and renaming the file to the specified name):

• Use it to download Title "0000000100000024 v3351" to get IOS36-64-v3351.wad.

Install FAQ

Remove all GameCube memory cards and controllers.

• This step is very important. Do not ignore it .

If your Wii is not connected to the Internet, copy IOS36-64-v3351.wad to sd:/
Unzip the IOS236 Installer zip file and copy the IOS236 directory and its contents to sd:/apps.

• You should now have an sd:/apps/IOS236/boot.dol file among others.

Run IOS236 Installer from the Homebrew Channel.
Read the startup messages as you wait
Push 1 when prompted
If your Wii is connected to the Internet, choose "Download IOS from NUS" with the D-pad, otherwise choose "Load IOS from sd card"
Confirm your choice with the A button
When prompted, push A to continue the installation
Read about what Step 2 entails and push the appropriate button

• One would hope that you would be pushing B as this is a tutorial for non-pirates that want to use USB Loaders responsibly. If you actually want to play pirated games, then push A and follow any further instructions.

Push any button to exit when complete.

Should put a waring in the op that if you select the pirate one by mistake like I did it just becomes a pointless troll. It also says it deletes 236.

I did the same thing now I dont know what to do. I guess I got to find the download from somewhere else.

use Multi_mod manager(it will install ios36 patched and ios236patched)

I chose this too just for kicks and it blocks the reinstall. to get around it just pop in and game disk and load the game. then your "not a pirate" so it will let you run it again and select the good guy option lol.

You can also power cycle the console (turn it off then back on and run the installer again).

is this what i need to fix the error i get when opening usb loader saying 236 is not installed?

usb loader should still work without ios236...
which one are you using?

whatever one came with messies guide to 4.2
i tried to use the update button in it, and it just locks up on me, and dont know how to update past that lol
