my wii remote wii not sink

my wii remote wii not sink with my wii every thing ells is working i tried to reset it but it still wont sink

first off, it's sync.
so you hit the red button next to the memory card slot on the wii, then the little red button by the batteries on the wii remote and it doesn't sync?
