    SD card wont format

I have a 1G SD card that a friend gave mii. I was transferring some images to it and I got an error when transferring a ping file that said something about wrong file system. I checked and the card that I was transferring from is formated to Fat32 and the one I was transferring to is Fat. Every since then I can't format it or delete any of the images on it. I have tried SDFormater with not luck either. Any suggestions on how I can get it formated or maybe delete the partition?

try deleting the current volume by
    1)clicking the windows icon
    2) right click "computer"
    3) select manage
    4) when the new window pops up, under storage select disk management
    5) find your sd card path letter
    6) right click and select delete volume

Then create a new simple volume, and format that.

I already tried that. Windows won't let you delete a partition on a SD card. From what I read you have to either buy something or use Linux but I'm looking for someother advice..

I should have guessed that, sorry. Try FAT32FormatterEN. It does lots of things that windows security protocols tend to prevent.

Ba... "Partition Collapsed!! Initialize Drive and Try again". When I do.... it doesn't like it, lol, all kinds of errors.

This will give me a reason to setup a Linux virtual machine. No loss if I can't get it working though.

try the easeus software here. Otherwise, I've never run into that problem. The sd card could be shot. I have had sd card readers that are cheap, heat up too much, and literally melt parts of the card. good luck

That was the first utility that I tried. It wont recognize a SD card. if all else fails, I just go buy a new one.

Burn puppy linux to disk and boot it. Use gparted to delete the partion and make a new one.
