    My cooling fan died in my wii and its softmodded. Where to send for repair?

    I have a Softmodded Wii. he cooling fan has died. system keeps shutting off due to overheat. Can i send it to nintendo? will they check? or should i send it somewhere else?


    Some opinions please. Thank you.

    From what I've heard, if you send it off to Nintendo, they will charge you something like $200 to fix it if they find "illegal software" (i.e. homebrew) on there. (Under warranty or not) IIRC, that price was before the price for a new system dropped to $199, but I bet it's still close to the cost of a new unit. Google "Wii Cooling Fan" and see what comes up. There's lots of things to try for around $20 or less.

    Also, I remember reading that even virginizing you Wii won't work, they will still detect that something was there. Something to do with IOS0 I think.

    go to ebay.... get triwing screwdrivers.... find a guide on how to dismantel the wii and replace the fan.... its just like changing a fan in a pc
