    wii wifi possibly broke?

so i was switching my case to the black knight i case, in the process cord got snapped, i believe its a wifi antenna, cant be 100% sure. looking for best idea on what it is and best fix. thought about just twisting it together but inside that wire is like a clear plastic tube which looks like another type of wire inside it maybe?

if it needs to be replaced could you tell me how i could go about finding that part, thanks. and sorry if wrong section if a mod could move this to a correct one if wrong, no clue where to post this.

thought about just twisting it together but inside that cord is like a clear plastic special.

You can just spit the clear tube and make a splice and put it back in the clear tube or just tape it using some good electrical tape. The tubing is just for protection. I would suggest soldering it though if you can.

edit: And I believe that is the wifi antenna.

picture says "antenna" so im guessing wifi for sure now. but why is it two? and would wifi still work since one would be hooked up? or could i simply just buy a usb doogle? like this, !WiFi Wireless USB Lan Adapter Link for PSP NDS PS3 Wii - eBay (item 110436153077 end time Jun-14-10 21:40:55 PDT)

Have you ever seen a set of rabbit ears that sets on top of a TV. It's kinda like that. Not sure how it works but there is a science behind it all. I would not waste your money on a USB type wifi. It's just a wire inside of a tube. Nothing to be scared of and can be fixed spending $0.00.

my problem is if there are wires inside the tube looking thing its so tiny i cant get them out to connect.

it almost seems as if its fiber optics, is there anyway it is? i just twisted the regular wires together then electical taped them together, should i try doing same if you think the other is fiber optics? its just clear and real shiny, seems plasticish, doesnt want to bend much.

Use a pair of wire striper's, knife, teeth anything. You just need to remove enough material to expose the copper so you can splice it back together. Heck use a cigarette lighter if nothing else just make sure you tape it back up. As long as you don't yank on the wire and pull it out of place your can't hurt it any worse. Don't be scared of it man. You got this far and something like this is minor compared to completely disassembling a wii and putting it back together.
