    eBay drive error

So I just purchased a wii off of eBay that has a disk read error for $120 for everything. I know I can most likely fix it by getting a new DVD drive but I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to rebuild a DVD drive by replacing the laser and drive motor and if it is worth while. I am very handy at this sort of thing and I am doing it mainly as an experiment because I would like to start repairing consoles but if I can just rebuild the drive I might even be able to make a buck off of this one.

That wii is long gone. I wasn't a read error after all. The loading mechanism had a little tab that some how got bent slightly out of place and wouldn't take a disk. It would only go in about 3/4 of the way. A little tweaking with a pair of small tip needle nose pliers and it was good to go. I made $80 off of that one.
