what is this wire for

hi folks

what is this wire for ( see pic) top left of dvd drive

it is going to the board that sits above the use ports

is it the power for the usb ports?

At a guess but it's probably some sort of Earth wire. Quite often when connecting USB devices a spark can form, this wire could be to drag that energy back to the outlet. It doesn't seem integrated enough to be anything else.

It is one of your antennas for the wifi. On the right side of the dvd drive is another board connected to the wifi module.
They placed a vertical and horizontal board in the wii.
Probably for optimum reception of the signal
