    lapbtop don't see hdd

    hi i have 1tb hdd want to use on my bell tv pvr when i hook to pvr it formats the hdd. when i hook to laptop it doesn't show up in (my computer) but shows up in divice manager i have know idea what the pvr is formating it to. when i try to give it a drive letter it won't let me
    edit: i was hoping to u this hdd for other things like my wii games. i would never need the 1tb just for recording from the pvr. can any one help please.

    Your Bell receiver is formatting the drive to a proprietary format, specifically so you CAN'T use the drive for anything else or access it's content from anywhere else. Sorry about your luck, but you can't use it for multiple things.

    We generally recommend EaseUS. The home edition is free and allows for many more options than the standard windows utility.

    thanks just got it should i delete or clear the stuff on it or formating will take care of that
    just follow the fat32 guide ?
    would a picture of it in disk management help u guys help me if i can post one

    Hypothetical possibility:
    You may still have a hidden partition that won't accept a formatting; if this partition can't be deleted maybe it could be sized to near zero.
