UsaCanada Messed up initial software setup...any way out?

I just installed the yellow sticker Wiikey2, burned the latest v1.2 firware disk and booted. Firmware was already at 1.2, so it didn't actually update. Everything great so far.
BUT, in my excitement I accidentally put a backup disk in instead an original game disk as the first disk after installation. Now the only two DVDs my Wii will load are the Wiikey setup disk and the backup game I used as the first disk.... No other backups or originals (!) will play. Not even the rescue disk from the Wiikey2 site will start or boot.
Is my system hosed??? Please help!

doesnt sound good, do you have homebrew, if so try booting in gecko OS, maybe it will work, and maybe a firmware update might make a difference you never know =x

Thank you for the fast response!
I have used Homebrew and the backup channel loader to play backups before, but that didn't play them all. (that was the reason for the chip)
This channel now gives me some software exception crash error whenever I try.

well doesnt the wiikey set its region from the first disc? If so then what region disc did you use on the wiikey? I believe they have 3 versions of wiikey update disc downloads on their site, one for Jap, US, and EU, maybe one thats on the same region of your backup would work?

Worst comes to worst, you can always buy another wiikey2 and do it right...

Good point! It was an NTSC disc that I put in first, the right region in theory. And I double checked with the wii update manager. But it was just not the original CD, but rather a backup copy.

Anyway, I agree with your last point and prob just will go out and get another one. :-/

Thank you for your help!
