Wiikey 2 close up pictures

its a clone modchip, i believe this one is called wiitop, but not 100% sure as I don't follow the clones closely.

Thanks for the help.

I bought this chipped set from the shop, so I don't know much about it. The shop ower doesn't seem to know much about all these stuff. I assume they got it from some other supplier.

I've tried updating with the WiiKey 1.9s Jap. The update was sucessful, but I still get the error msg. The games that run previously, still works fine.

Do you know any way I can update my chip to play Mario Galaxy and Smash Bros?

hmm that is weird that the update was successful. the chip you have is the wiitop, this is the only info I could find

It shouldnt need an update to work with SMG or SSBB, make sure they are the jap version for a Jap wii.

Thanks for the quick reply. But the install progress went smoothly, but it still doesn't let me play those newer games.

Anyway, the WiiTop you mention has a SST (at smaller chip), but mine has a Dual+E (at smaller chip).

Mine is also a solder on the Wii board.

The part where you ask me to make sure they are the Jap version for a Jap wii, you do mean the games right?

I'm not sure If I'm allowed to post pictures with links here or not, but my chip looks exactly like the one in the picture, and its written WiiKey. (I'm not trying to argue, just want to get the problem solve.)

But I'm not so sure about the credibility of that site.

depending on the version you get some say dual E some say sst (the chipset is an sst, dual e is custom writting). Anyways its not a wiikey, it is a clone. the pictures I posted are a wiikey 2, and wiikey 1 also looks completly different.

and yes I meant make sure the games are jap if your console is a japanese region wii.

Anyway, just to double check. I notice that the fake clone WiiKey has a Plus Sign in a circle; and the WiiKey doesn't. So that makes sense right?

I normally get the games from a pirated shop in my country. Some are written NTSC-U, NTSC-Jap, PAL-Jap, Pal-U. (All these are fake right? They don't know what are they writting right?) Because all seems to run on my set fine. (Only couple of newer games doesn't run.)

And lastly, you are telling me that the Fake Clone Chip doesn't need to be updated via DVD, because all of the games can run? All I need to do is get hold of the Jap version and it should be fine?

yes it has to look like the picture I took, [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] is the official wiikey website
What region is your wii model? NTSC PAL JAP ? Check by going into the wii settings menu it should tell you something like 3.3E, 3.3J or 3.3U

It's written Version 3.1J.
