Hi, I modified over 10 Wii to this date and I have a couple of questions. First if you update the Wii with the latest update like 4.2U and put the Wiikey2 after will it work of the Wii will be brick or something like that and second is it possible to remove the wiikey then do the update then put it back in? Anyone have ideas? Thanks!
i got a wiikey2 and i've updated up to 4.2 with no problems "EXCEPT" you can not play other region games on it anymore after you update to 4.2 . if you can update to 4.1 do that becasue then you'll still be able to play other regions still.

Mudshake there is no need at all for you to upgrade to 4.2U. There are some threads that talk about some of their modchips stop working all together. Its best to stay on 4.1 or 4.0, as long as you stay away from 4.2. There has also been talk about people who have never softmod/hardmod their wii and their wiis bricked on them when updating to 4.2.
so if I want to updated a Wii to 4.1 what I should do? find a game that has this update on the disk or is it possible to download it somewhere, burn it on a disk and update the Wii with that? Thanks!
you can do that if you are not softmodded, but if you are also softmodded or want to be softmodded you can use dogegg's simple tutorial on how to softmod your wii and safely update to 4.1 with homebrew channel still working.
