Double check if you have blocked updates for your wiikey 2. Is your chip settings allowing updates from only USA region or blocking them all.
Wii sports resort will want to update your wii and if your blocking all updates that can cause the black screen.
Remove block all updates and change it to only allow USA updates. If you have homebrew installed and you have blocked updates with starfall remove that and allow your chip to update only USA.
Hopfully this helps

If you have no homebrew then it's generally safe to update from in region discs, that's why a lot of chips do not block that sort of update by default. Without updating you will be left behind as games evolve. Most of the Do Not Update advice is for softmodders.

i wouldn't do 4.2, i got a wiikey2 and i can't play out of region games with 4.2(hadda install homebrew for that), 4.1 was safe for me but seen a few others had problems i think. 4.0 would be good i think.
