Default Wii CIOS has been changed

Hi,
I searched the forums but couldn't find an answer.
I don't know what's changed with the Wii but all of a sudden it's not picking up the external USB drive in any of my loaders. I believe it's something to do with the CIOS that's loaded (In HBC it says I'm running CIOS61 I think, need to check) so it may be fixed by changing the "default" Wii-wide CIOS back to 249. How do I change the CIOS? I went in to WiiMod and changed the current IOS to 249 but when I exited it was still 61.
Can anyone suggest anything? Sorry if this is an obvious question, I'm relatively new to this and willing to learn :)

Extract this file to the root of your sd card, If mmm doesn't start go to hbc and run from there. Once in mmm go to wad manager and install both wads then take the sd card and remove the extracted files and try your usb device again
