Component cables are component cables. Go for it!

It's this mindset that allows companies like MONSTER to sell HDMI cables for 100$+. The cables are sound, but if you get some from a company in china they may not be shipped safely/processed safely/glued wrong.

I would recommend buying from a physical store; i.e. Gamestop.

    I've got some.

One of the biggest differences is, (UNLIKE an HDMI cable, like someone brought up as an example- that's one thing you should definitely never spend more than a few bucks on), the fact that component cables are still susceptible to interference. Cheaper cables will have thinner insulation and even thinner gauge wiring. There won't be any difference in quality or it's ability to carry your stereo audio and 480p video, BUT, if you have them bunched up with a bunch of other cords (especially power cords) and have poor cable management and/or not a lot of room to somewhat isolate them, you may notice interference (sort of a flickering, especially when the screen is black like when loading the game). That would be the only real case for one of the thicker nicer cables. If you can seperate them a bit from everything else, you shouldn't have an issue.

You might not have an issue either way, but that's the only issue your likely to have (other than poor Quality Control and getting a dud on arrival). I'd go for it! I got some through a NewEgg re-seller for like $4. Works fine for me.

    Newegg.com - Nintendo Wii Component Cable 480p (16X9) for HDTV - 6ft
Those are the exact ones I bought. Less than $5, free shipping, ships fast via USPS (This is all assuming your in the states), and they are working excellently! Nice improvement over the stock cables.

When I bought a 42inch Plasma the guy in the store asked me if I wanted a HDMI cable for the bundled Blu-Ray player costing £45 and that was with a 20% discount. I declined and bought one for £6 lmao... Works great....

I bought my components odd Ebay, first ones I got were shielded very badly and would get interference on the screen when I plugged my HDD into the Wii (Cost about £3.00).
The second lot looked similar to the ones Romans5.8 has linked to which I purchased from Ebay for £4.00 and they work fine...
