difference between 4.1 and newer versions

Hello everyone, i bought my Wii a loong time ago, found this site and followed the tutorial to softmod it. i'm pretty sure i have a system menu version 4.1.

I dont really use wii all that much anymore, but with the new zelda coming i just wanted to know if my wii is even capable of running the newer games? Because to be honest im really not that keen on updating it if not nessesary. (DO NOT WANT a brick :< )

I posted this on general because i got confused by the size of this forum. lol, excuses

Basically, when it comes to those System Menu updates, after 4.1, no new features got added. Everything was attempted to block out homebrew so think of 4.3 and 4.2 as 4.1 + Homebrew Blocks.

As for the iOS part, there's a Update Your Wii section in the "Softmod For ANY Wii" guide in the Recommended Tutorial section. Yo u can use that to bring your iOS setup to date.

What has me worried is if they're going to dump a big system menu update on us with that game and a few crappy anti hack features. I just have the feeling they are going to use this game to deliver whatever crappy tricks they have up their sleeves.

Oh-Well. Why worry? The Wii hacking scene is definitely an elite force that knows no blockades. (Or knows them well enough to get around them without much trouble)

Shadow sonic has pointed you in the right direction. 4.1 is the most stable version for modded consoles. You can upgrade your cios. But stay with one guide and see it through try to read lots and stay with this site. Mauifrogs mod any wii with cios update will play 99% of backups. NO NEED FOR DOWNGRADE. you just install and it overwrites. Read about, and install priiloader.
    good luck!!!

lol.. Im sort of doubting that there will be anymore updates to the wii considering how close they are to the wii u.. Im pretty sure if they are working on and anti HBC anti hacking stuff that its aimed at protecting their new and upcoming system.

Did I come off like a jerk?? Read more here
