i think it's interesting that the PS3 has motion detection built into the controll now, just like the wii...so they take away the wii novelty and what is nintendo left with? a new gamecube that plays old games with a remote control?
i have a 360 and i'm happy with it so far

I guess the what the Wii has is value. Value and there are die hard loyal nintendo fans...

They have the portable gaming down as well... and of course they have Zelda and Mario, but more importantly Zelda =)

Ok but when I also saw Zelda in action, I could help think of my old N64 games. The graphics are obviously better than the N64, but that's what they made me think of. And they really really didn't look much better than anything I've seen on gamecube. I'm still blown away by Resident Evil 4 on Gamecube. It just looks great - why didn't more games like that come out for the GC?
The wii looks, to me, to be a disappointment. I've owned NES, SNES, N64, and NGC...but I'm still not convinced that the wii is a good plan. I might have outgrown Nintendo.

So why are you here if you're such a blind fanboy?

The PS3's motion sensing is far inferior to the Wii's. It can only detect tilt, while the Wii can point, calculate distance from the screen, and has much more advanced accelrometers.

Jeez. Give away free stuff and you'll have just about anyone posting for the sake of posting.

i'm a blind fanboy? ok. so you're saying i shouldn't post? ok. is that because i'm not praising the wii? i'm saying i've had very little experience with it and nintendo hasn't done their job enticing me to buy it when i compare the graphics across various "next-gen" consoles
anyway i haven't looked into the specs of the different systems and i'm sure that nintendo put more thought and care into their remote design and that sony added their tilt sensors as a competitive afterthought.
i'm a nintendo fan in general, but i feeling like i'm growing out of their marketing demographics...while the xbox seems to have kid's games and adult content, as i assume the ps3 will eventually.
so my main point is that i'd like to think that a new system has more than just a new remote control over my gamecube...if the graphics aren't any better and i don't want to swing my arm around to play a game, what's the allure? yes i know you can get a classic-style controller, too. these are my impressions and i'm open to conversation...just don't assume to know me or why i'm here. thanks.

Hey, I'm just making assumptions based on what you provide me. Saying the PS3's motion sensing nullifies the Wii's is a pretty ignorant. It just seemed from your post that you were posting the standard "LOL bad games, kiddy graphics, stupid controller" drivel of a cookie-cutter troll.

ok fair enough...just for the record, i said that i thought it was "interesting" and that it takes away from the novelty of a controller being motion-sensitive...
on that note, i had a controller for my NES way back in the day that had the same kind of deal...you held it like a jet flight stick in front of you and tilt it in the direction you wanted the on-screen characters to move...it was pretty cool and i was always surprised not to see them become more prevalent...i used it for my TMNT2 game...no idea what it was called though..it's still around here somewhere i'm sure.

I do agree the Wii's graphics is not spectacular, and clearly not next gen, but i don't think they ever said that.... im quite a casual gamer not into first person shooters and such, however i do have an xbox which has been great... only played a few games...

I really do want to play zelda since i have enjoyed it in the past.... but im not sure what other games i would actually play on it... Xbox360 seems to be the way to go, great graphics/online play/built in arcade and all that good stuff... but you can't beat the price of the wii...

yeah but it came out so many years after the gamecube...could they not have just released a new controller for the gamecube and an adapter to all for the wireless connection? i know that it probably isn't feasible - but the fact is that it was released in a new generation of games and they seem to be ignoring the fact that people expect better graphics with new games. it's just my opinion, but i'm still confused at why the controller is the big thing and why it's a whole new system without many other upgrades that i know about

Actually, the Wii is quite a bit stronger than the Gamecube. It has specs that make it almost two times more powerful than the original Xbox. The reason the games don't reflect that yet is because they launch games were made on Gamecube dev kits. The Wii dev kit wasn't made available to developers until a bit after launch.
