    Updating for a hackrd wii...

Is it possible to update a Wii if it's hacked? Like if you format it's memory and then update it? I was asking this on another forum but they weren't sure if it was possible. They weren't sure if it would brick it...

We get people updating Hacked Wiis all the time. I'm not going to say it's a good thing to do or recommend it but the good majority seem fine. The update seems to do what it should and stub the common cIOS slots, remove any non-recent HBC on there, and so forth. You also have to remember people have bricked non-hacked Wiis updating too.

Firmware...say you had 4.2. Then you wanted to upgrade to 4.3. Would formatting your Wii let you update your firmware without any brick?

All formatting is going to do is delete your saves and channels.

So basically he doesn't want to keep his softmod anymore? If he still does then tell them to sighn up here and follow the anywii guide it will over right the old softmod and he will be downgraded to 4.1 recommend and he will be successfully softmoded
