whiite linux to full debian desktop?

    Hi

Ive installed whiite linux using a tutorial found here WL:whiite-linux-installer - gc-linux

Im using mikep4 and currently the system looks like a "bare bones" black and white OS
But i have heard that from this you can create a full visual debian desktop,
    how do i do this?
all i have managed to do is configure the keyboard any thing else seems baffling,
could someone point me to a good tutorial or just tell me what to do.
I'm not too picky about what desktop even gets used because all i want to do is to have a desktop OS that lets me run word processors and internet browsers

Im on 4.2E and i have bootmii as Boot2

    could someone please help

    Thanks

In an odd coincidence I am currently writing a Linux guide. Like literally typing it out now and popping on here back and forth. No desktop will install. There simply isn't enough memory to install even a light desktop like Xfce. About the best you can do is install X and Fluxbox. A guide on general Linux use would be huge! I have multiple guides and they usually cover one specific aspect like you Unix commands and stuff!

    OK
    well thanks
but i have a few questions
1)how do i enable wifi on whiite (is it that whiite-wifi-config-whatev thing?)
    2) how do i install xorg
    3) how do i installfluxbox
    4) where are your guides if they relate to this
5)does doing apt-get update and apt-get upgrade even do anything and i tried it before but it said that 0 things had been updated , was that because i was not connected to wifi through whiite
    6) do you recommend that i scrap whiite altogether

    Thanks

1)I haven't gotten that far in yet and yes there is supposed to be an easy cofig program built in.
    2)apt-get
    3)apt-get
    4)I'm working on it. LOL
5)If you can't connect to a repository apt-get will not work so you are 100% correct in your assumption.
    6) Why? If people has that attitude about Linux it wouldn't have got to where it is today. It's user passion that drives it! If you want everything all double click and GUI all the time then Linux isn't for you. If you don't mind putting in a little work for a lot of payoff then Linux is for you.
