I don't think you are getting what I'm getting at. All HDDs have power saving features which can be turned on and off though software or your OS. If on the drive spins down when not in use after a short time to save energy. I hate this feature an always turn it off! Anyways it generally leads to problems on the Wii if it spins down because the Wii can't seem to power HDDs back up once they have spun down. It would have nothing to do with if the HDD is getting power or not. I'm not saying this is your problem...It's just generally recommended to turn off a HDD's power saving/spin down feature to prevent problems. Could be why you have unplug your drive and plug it back in to wake it up.

Is this normal? It seems to do it when I'm using either Configurable USB Loader, or USB Loader GX.

    2. Do you guys keep your USB HDD plugged into your Wii when you're not using your Wii?
it depends on how good your system is mine beraly doesn't go out

    Bump.

I now keep WiiConnect24 turned off and now the USB HDD turns on and off with the Wii.

Does anybody else turn WiiConnect24 off? Is it good to keep it off?
