    I don't really know, but it could have something to do with the game being written to different sectors on the harddrive after deleting it. Some sectors could be damaged or hardly-readable. Not saying that this is the case, the chance is actually pretty low, but it could be.

    It doesn't, well not pure logicaly. Perhaps when it is re ripped it is looked at like a new disk and therefore plays for awhile? I think it wouldn't be a bad idea though if they made sure its spin down feature was off. Has anyone ever heard of this happening before?

    Hi

    Its a very strange issue, my drive is a Seagate Expansion 500GB External USB 2.0. The issue only seems to occur after I have added new games, then some either go black screen or lag, on Fifa the sound went??

    And to rectify I just re-install.

    I thought maybe bad sectors, I cant work it out??????

    Well just for laughs try and search if your external has a sleep mode or spin down mode if it does make sure its turned off.

    no its not that, it can happen as soon as you switch it on, and I completely formatted it and removed any onboard software when I made it wfbs
