Question My Internet channel looks horrible. What gives?

OK I finally hooked up the Wii to a wireless internet connection and opened up Internet Opera channel but EVERYTHING looks friggin' horrible and makes it pretty much unusable. msn.com, facebook, craigslist. All horrible. Text is very hard to read even after zooming in. I am using a Sony Trinitron CRT type TV and a component video cable.

But before all of this, about 2 months ago I was at a friends house and they showed me the internet & Netflix website through their Wii on a HDTV using the standard composite cable and it looked much better. Even Google search results.

My laptop is in the shop and my only source for going online outside of work is through the Wii so I am kinda bummed about this.

Any suggestions? Possibly the TV settings or Wii settings can be adjusted?

    Thanks in advance

Thanks, Shift. Would this be the general Wii settings, or the settings within the the Opera browser itself?

One more thing, would an incorrect Wii video setting cause my games to also look flawed? Because the games look perfect. It's only the websites visited through the Internet Channel that looked bad.

Could be because you are comparing a CRT to a plasma or LCD. Your picture will never look as good as your friends no matter how hard you try or no matter what you adjust. Believe me from personal experience on that one. The CRT image will always look blurry in comparison no matter how nice the CRT is.

LOL. Believe me I'm not saying adjusting the picture won't help and by all means play with your setting until it looks better. But to think the picture on a CRT will ever be as crisp as an HDTV is ludicrous.

Yeah this is not a CRT - HDTV comparison. I know Wii will always look better on HDTV but what I see on my TV through the internet channel is absolute garbage and pretty much worthless when the games look absolutely fine. (for a 480)

I'll check the Wii settings this evening and report back. Thx guys
