    Network usb server

    Hi you guys out there.. and girls!

    I have a usb hub with an external hd connected to my router. Is it possible to reach the external hd via wifi on the wii and without turning on the computer?

    Depends. The router needs to be able to use the disc as a network share. Futhermore, you can only use that harddisk on the network for things like playing videos, not wii games.

    Well the router is a Tilgin HG1351. How can I check it?

    The purpose is for movies and pictures only.

    It needs to have an option somewhere for using the disk as a network share, or something like that.

    You will need to connect to the webUI of the router. This can be done by typing in the standard gateway of the router into the browser. You can find what the standard gateway is by running ipconfig using cmd (run it as admin).

    What to look for inside? A special feature or? Have tried to prt scr. but it becomes to large to attach.

    Yes, you will need to look for something called windows network share, or samba. You could also try doing a port scan on your router using nmap to see whether the ports for network sharing are open. If they are, then your router should support it.

    In the router I can see the ip addresses of everything in my home. Htc, Wii, Pc etc.. I can ping the IP address of the network harddisk with success. You mentionedd something about Fat. My harddisk is formatted ntfs otherwise I can't copy dvd 4 gb files. I read that Wiimc was compatible with ntfs in their update 1.1.2.

    Can you connect to the disk over network using your pc? If so, then you can use the samen settings for Wiimc.
