    Hi,
I want to install bootmii2 for my 4.2e, but i can only install it as a ios. Should i downgrade my wii to a lower version to install bootmii2? And what version should i downgrade so that i can install as a bootmii2?

    Thanks in advance

    You can't. End of story.

The System Menu version has nothing to do with being able to install bootmii as boot2.

It is not a possibility to install Bootmii as boot2 for your console if not offered as a choice within the Hackmii installer. Only consoles produced up to mid-2008'ish or earlier were exploitable.

Install as an IOS and make your NAND backup.

    You cant.

Consoles made after some point in 2008 (no concrete date is known) have a new version of boot1 that patches the vulnerability which allows the console to boot a modified boot2. The Hackmii Installer will detect this situation and refuse to modify boot2.

This is just sad. Hackmii said you couldn't, so naturally you assumed you could. You asked for help on how to install bootmii as boot2 on here, since you knew it wasn't possible. I told you it wasn't possible. Therefore the logical response is to ask how you could do what was impossible.

You should read more closely when relaying information for the purpose of gaining knowledge. Your boot2 (not bootmii2: such a term does not exist) is at version 4. For purposes of installing Bootmii into the boot2 sector this is meaningless. The exploit lies within the boot1 sector, which is patched and not exploitable in your console.

Read the links Cile gave you and you would not need to ask these questions.
