If you don't care about the HBC or .WAD installs, then the 3.4 update does not effect your modchip.

For softmodders, the 3.3 was the kiss-of-death. Everyone downgraded to the 3.2 and installed cIOS38, 53, 55, then 37 to play everything available.

that IOS 38, 53, and 55, with CIOS 37 since i assume she will be searching and have issues :3

If you care for hbc then follow admirals advice though if you're just into playing your backups then you can update alright.

+ legal dodge, incase somehow it magicly bricks your wii, their not liable :3

just remember, if u dont see someone saying, the end of modchips, then thats that, but like spyman said, they update the chip set to the point of removing the drive chip, and epoxy, because at no point can they stop chips :3
