Recover Games From A WBFS Formatted Harddrive

I cant believe, i let my cousin use my Wii and left him alone for 40mins came back because he said he loaded up USB GX Loader Channel and the screen asked him something like 'couldn't find partitions so he said he 'selected out of 5 options 931GB the others 4 options said partitions need to be formatted' and now i cant see my games on my Wii it loads into USB GX Loader with no games showing just the interface showing, or on my PC Through WBFS Manager it says 'error occured while loading drive. Make sure the drive is not in use or open and that it has been formatted to WBFS Format'.
WHATS happened to my drive and how can i recover the games as it is WBFS formatted? Thanks alot

I am a newbie here but I have experience with losing data and I guarantee you that EASEUS Data recovery wizard professional can go into your hard drive a see the partition that was accidentally formatted and bring it back. at least I had very good experience with lost data being recovered by this program I have done it with NTFS and with FAT. In case you cant recover anything and depending in the quantity of games you had in that drive you will have to get them again maybe from a fellow gamer. your cousin is dangerous watch him.

Im in the UK mate but i do appreciate your gesture, yeah im not happy at the moment it had around 300 games on it, ive just downloaded and installed EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard its showing my Wii hardrive as UNKOWN under the partition column and its just doing its intelligent searching now 43 files found so far, trouble is i dont no if the drive was accidently formatted or partition removed.

be patient mate.............dont kick you cousin............EASEUS works really good. I just got an idea if that is an external hard drive.....right? then you must have put the data in it with a computer try with EASEUS in that very same computer because maybe you let some data hanging in your computer's HD before passing them trough from ntfs/fat32 to wbfs maybe in that case you have two different places where to look! anyways the Hard drive it is still working and being detected by the computer so there is a big fat chance you are not lost........wish you the best good luck and forgive my bad english.............cant imagine your cousin's face ......lol.

Unfortunately ive just noticed that the free version only lets you recover 1GB worth of data, so i have stopped it.

I have the full version as A matter of fact I am using it right now. get any data recovery software you can snatch and leave working overnight. I recommend EASEUS because its the one I have and I know it works...................probably any other will do the same search to see if you can find a 30 day trial from any other software company. losing 300GB worth of goodies its not an option.

Yes with FAT or NTFS.....you will have no luck with WBFS....that's why FAT32 is recommended over WBFS (along with a few other reasons).

Anyway, if the games are lost then you can re-install to a fresh formatted HDD with the original discs....if they are damaged then you are out of luck and on your own. I recommend using FAT32 this time.

    Thumbs up

Actually i was going to upgrade within the next 2 weeks my harddrive to a bigger one as my old drive was 100% WBFS formatted and i wanted the new one to run Triforce or Sneek etc, i take it that Wii scrubbed games can just copy straight across onto FAT32 without any problems (what happens when the file is over 4GB? Also what is your recommendation for partitioning and formatting a new harddrive for the uses ive described eg how many partitions and which format to use on each partition, thanks in advance
