Also what is your recommendation for partitioning and formatting a new harddrive for the uses ive described eg how many partitions and which format to use on each partition, thanks in advance
Yes, previously "scrubbed" games can be used with FAT32 loading...(people switching from WBFS to FAT32 would experience this to a degree.....or if you have backups of your retail games scrubbed).

Games over 4GB.....very few games are OVER 4GB after being converted to a .wbfs file (for use with a FAt32 HDD).....so this is rarely an issue. Even if the game IS over 4GB after converted, it can easily be split with wii backup manager or the USB loader you are using (this is an automated process and is very easy).

Recommendations...follow the FAT32 guide in my signature...no other partitions are needed.
    Damn I suck!!!!

Yes whole drive is FAT32 and i used Wiibackupmanager 3.4, im starting to think that perhaps this 1.5tb WD drive is not compatible.

then you shouldn't have to change the setting if there's only one partition

I would suggest ripping a game to the hard drive through usb loader gx,
see where it stores the games, then copy the ones already on the drive to the same location
if I remember correctly, they should be in .wbfs format and in a wbfs folder on the root of the drive

Next time ask in the thread you are following. So the loader starts but you can't see your games? Does is ask you to select a partition? Did the games transfer to the wbfs folder on the root of the HDD? Go into settings by pressing 1, press 1 again to get to options and select your FAT partition.
    Damn I suck!!!!
