Are Drives and Chipsets Region Specific?

    Hello

I Have a broken drive on my wii. Is the Drive region specific, or is it the console?.

I have a European console, but the cheapest drive with a D2E Chipset I have found is from Hong Kong.

Secondly I've been told that you can put any Drive and chipset in any wii. Is this correct.

    Many thanks
    Iain

I just ordered one of those d2e's from H.K. off Ebay. Sure hope it's the real deal. Was about the cheapest drive on there of any chipset.

Those are the ones I'm looking at too, I killed my drive while removing Epoxy!

I' hope they are the real deal too and don't have Epoxy on them. Probably going to order mine in a day or so. Hope all is good with the drive. Let me know how you get on with it

Will do, tho I'm sure it'll be at least a week getting here. As long as it matches the pic on ebay, epoxy shouldn't be an issue. Funny that they show 900-some available. Thats a lot of brand new drives.

Thats what made me a little skeptical, although the feedback is mostly really good. I've bought other things from a different Hong Kong power seller before and it was good quality parts and really quick delivery.
