    XD the thing is
you cant just take apart 1 phone, put it in another phone, and expect all the features

    a DVD player
and a Video game system, use the same thing, they just read different things, thats why most systems can play it

with the HBC, theres really no risk like a 0.80% chance at a brick if even that high, and running a program like DVD player, it CANT brick your system, only programs that edit things, or install stuff can brick it others cant

well you are misinformed. the ONLY way to brick your wii is if the power cuts off during installation.

there is also an app called BRICKBLOCKER. Seems to work without a hitch.

If you are not interested in homebrew or other hack types then bottom line is that you wont be watching DVDs with your wii.

Personally I have watched many dvds with my wii. I was also hesitant at first to attempt to hack it but then I read countless threads, watched dozens of youtube videos on how to install HOMEBREW and others and made the decision.

HOMEBREW on wii has turned the wii into the best console out.

    In the near future...

I am hoping a better ps1 emulator comes out and I will be playing my old Final Fantasy 7 ON WII!

i think the PSP is still better -,_-,

    lot safer to do anything
    full custom firmware
can load all games off memory stick
    emulators
    PORTABLE
    smaller gamesizes
    1 - 2 links per game *at 1.50 or so gigs* VS 60 - 100 for wii
    better games overall
    etc

but the wii is still a lot better if you take some risks
