hi, i just bought a modded wii and i can't go online to the wii shop unless i have to update. if i do this will i brick my wii?

if the update matches your region you are safe..if it is not matching your region....don't do it.

what do you mean by region? i bought a US version here in the Philippines

well the US version wii you have is the NTSC version

As long as you see the update as NTSC...cause nintendo gives you an option what region the wii is (NTSC-U, PAL, or NTSC-J) just match it with the NTSC-U and you are good to go.

do you know of any people who did this update and had their wii fully bricked?

if u have a pal unit and update off some ntsc games then u can get fully bricked..if u have ntsc and update off another region then u get semi bricked which u can recover from
