    K. Lumsy needs a new DVD drive.

Forgive me, I know that this isn't the right section but I can't find the right one. It isn't about softmods or modchips, but there's no general support area...
I'm a victim of the dreaded buzzing wii. I got it not long after launch. So I opened it up to try to fix it, but none of the fix videos would work, I just couldn't make it shut up permanently. So I figured I'd get a newer DVD drive, and make a thread like this one but I was too lazy. Now, the metal plate at the top of the DVD drive has come loose due to my clumsiness, and my wii holds Mario Kart: Double Dash hostage, as ejecting would forever confuse it about whether or not I'm trying to put a disc in.
I found several kinds of drives on Ebay, but what kind is best? Do they all work on launch wiis? I want one that is new enough not to have the buzzing problem, but not so new that DVD-Rs are disabled. Thanks in advance.

You can buy any Wii drive; it's not the drive, but rather the PCB/logic board attached to the drive that's the key. If you can desolder four simple wires on yours, you can substitute your PCB/logic board onto a new drive if D3-2.

Thanks, but do you know which ones won't read DVD-Rs?
