Cannot read fdisc

Hi all. New to the site and a bit of a wii beginner. We bought our wii in singapore with a starter game pack, works no problem. recently was in uk and bought 3 discs which the kids have tried to load and error message says "unable to read disc" in all cases. There's probably a logical explanation, can someone assist?

Just realised that my wii firmware is 3.1u, whereas the discs are pal discs. Can one change the firmware to PAL from USA? Or can the discs be played by a change in settings?

I'm assuming you don't have a modchip installed. You have a few choices

1) Install the Homebrew channel and then use the GeckoOS app to load the PAL games on your NTSC-U wii

2) You can purchase FreeLoader (NTSC-U) version and use that to load the PAL discs

3) You can install a Modchip which will allow you to play Any region discs as well as backups of the games.
