Weird Wii sports Disc Reading Problem - Wiihacks

Hi,

I have a Wii Sport bought around Dec.2007 with D2C chipset UNMODDED. When I put in the Wii sport disc, it gave me the black screen telling me to eject/reset. I then tried my friends Wii Sport disc and that worked fine. There was no sign of scratch or smudge on my disc, so I tried it on my friend's Wii. When I put it in his Wii, the unit started this update process, it finished and his Wii played the disc without a problem. So I tried the disc on my Wii and it still gave me that eject/reset screen. Can someone explain why this is happening?

Don't know what is happening but why don't you just switch discs with him since it works in his and his disc works on yours! Simple solutions keep everyone happy.

I found this problem as well , when closely inspecting the disc though there was a hairline crack, on my wii it would read fine, but on the wii it came with it couldnt read this. The fact it read on mine was the boggling part though as it shouldnt have read it at all. Anyways it could have to do with laser strength, or just random luck with where it reads off the disc at the time.

Not really....remember the wii is mass produced so different wiis have varying laser strength so one game will work on one system but will have problems with the other.
