Suggestion for the Theme installation threads.

I noticed that there has been a rash of theme bricks lately and they have pretty much all been with newbies to the site. I was wondering if something could not be done to prevent this from happening. Removing the theme threads would be an option but I feel it would be unfair to more experienced users who know what they are doing not to have that resource.

Would it be possible to set a prerequisite to access them like a specific number of posts or a minimum amount of time since account was created (lets say 3 months) or a combination of both?

It would be nice to have a forum where we could explicitly discuss some of the controversial homebrew more freely.

I personally hate themes for what they do to noobs Wiis but they are a part of Wii hacking and have a place here because of that. I sometimes request that warnings are placed in opening post of guides to do with themes but we can't force noobs to take note of these. If they can't get the info here they will just go and do some stupid Youtube video instead.

In the meantime do feel free to report any guide/thread that does not have a good warning about the danger of themes so the Mods can make some funny edits.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

I would also suggest, (and implement), the warning being placed on any page that had a download link to a theme on it. I recall such a thread that resulted in a brick. Luckily the owner of the brick had boot2 and recovered and the OP of the thread was mature enough to ask for it to be closed. I hate themes as well, but do understand that others like them. If a warning is placed on every page I do not feel sorry for anyone who ends up in the bricked wii section.

Not a bad idea Baboo77, but it might give the impression that we endorse the themes as well.

Thanks for your feedback. You guys got some valid points. I guess I won't feel to bad when someone bricks because they didn't listen to the warning in my new theme thread.

You have been given an infraction for your multiple/duplicate posts. Read the forums, your answers are there.
I think mauifrog already summed up what you need to do over a month ago. Fail for posting in the wrong thread and wrong section (again apparently).
