    Legit SSBB Wont Work

I have (actually 2) legit copies of SSBB and neither will load in the Disc Channel.

Keeps saying "Unable to read disc. See manual for information."

My Wii use to play it cause my older copy worked fine.

The only reason we got a new copy is because I thought my disc was scratched to bad for the Wii to read because it wouldnt load anymore but now the band new, never been played copy gives me that same exact error.

All my other games work just fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Most games are single layer disks. SSBB is dual layer and is harder for your drive to read. Could be your drive. I know I had to adjust the loading arms on mine before cause they weren't engaging the disks properly.

Did some Googling last night and found that this is a common error and Nintendo will clean/replace my lens to fix it.

My Wii is softmodded with HomeBrew channel and some cIOSes.

Would it be risky sending it in?

My son has really been wanting to play SSBB here lately. lol

I think it would be risky, If they were to check it first which I assume they would just to make sure it actually was the laser, then they may also wipe out your homebrew and refuse to replace the laser based on the fact they could blame the laser packing on you playing back ups off of dvd's. (Usb loading is still by far the best option).
