    Unhappy Game Freezes During Play

I've softmodded my own Wii before and then mistakenly updated to the 4.2u firmware but luckily I came across a tutorial (SoftMod for ANY 4.2 Wii) on here that helped me with the usb loader so my Wii is fine now. The problem is ny nephew's Wii. He got it as a bday presenr so it was brand spankin' new with 4.2u already installed. I followed the very same tutorial as before and everything seems fine except that when in USB Loader, he picks a game and it starts off fine but approximately 10 - 20 minutes into the game it freezes. No matter which game it is, they all seem to freeze. Any idea on what it could be? I know it's not the external hard drive because it works fine on my Wii. Please help me. I was trying to surprise my nephew with this but I just ended up disappointing him.

According to gbatemp's info on it here, says only HBC will work.

Other folks on wiihacks report similar Maxtor One Touch drives (differing in size; perhaps in generation as well, cannot tell) say they work on this thread.

I"ll try my HDD on his Wii and see if the problem occurs but I am finding it a little bit hard to believe because the HDD that I tried on his Wii was mine that I used to use on my Wii and it worked fine. I'm just going to try another HDD on his Wii next time I go visit him (a few days from now) and let you and know how it turned out.

Thanks for your help so far.

There a way to prevent it from going to sleep? Any solutions?

    ................

I've been using the HDD I gave my nephew and so far the problem has not happened to me. I seriously think it could be a wii hack software issue of some sort.

Update: I have switched HDDs with my nephew, so I now have the problematic HDD but the thing about that is that it works fine with my Wii. Could it really be that the HDD was going to sleep on his Wii? And why not on mine? Any who, I'm gonna try and find where I can download the Maxtor manager for the HDD so maybe I can set it so it won't fall asleep (I want to get back my HDD from my nephew, it was a 500GB, the one I have originally gave him is a 200GB)
