Launch into Bootmii and use either a GC controller or the power/reset buttons on the console to navigate. Wiimotes are not supported.

Oh ok, I misread your post. So what happens when you try to sync up at the system menu? I believe the process described in the book is to let it boot, press and release the sync button by the SD slot on the console, press and release the sync button on the wiimote, then they should be synced.

system menu boots no problem. i hold the sync button on the wii and then the button on the controller but the controller just flashes and then goes off.

Try what I suggested above, I don't know if it'll make a difference but that's from the instruction manual.

Bootmii is an application for backing up and restoring the console's internal NAND memory. Not installing it isn't going to cause your remotes to de-sync. And I honestly don't remember if GC controllers work on the sysmenu, I don't believe they do.

Ok i tried syncing the controllers as you said and i still have the flashing blue lights. I have tried this over 30 times now .

    Any other option here?

Does it sound like a brick?

this is the first time i have ran into this issue with the controllers not working. System menu is up and i see the hbc and when i load a game in the drive it shows the anomation about the game like normal.

Anyone else run into this problem? if you can walk me thru a fix on msn just let me know...
