Come to this thread to share your questions (and answers) about Wii-related hardware and/or software malfunctions.

I had a Wii Remote die on me, at least partially. It still had pointer functionality and the buttons worked, but the motion sensors went crazy. It though it was being spun to the left. When batting in Wii Baseball, the bat was being swung constantly and I had no control over it. Nintendo is sending me a replacement. Argh! Fortunately I had 2, so I'm not completely out of luck, but multiplayer is pretty much dead at the moment.
That totally sounds like it is a hardware problem... maybe the gyroscope inside got stick? I assume thats how the wiimote works? gyroscope inside to detect forward motion and whatnot?
did nintendo say anything about whether they have a lot of these problems or what the solution is? did you have to send them your old remote to get a new one?Quote:
