Angry Problem with Wii downloaded games

Hello guys, i'm kind of new on the hack thing, i just got a wii for xmas and i installed Homebrew thing via a SD card. i got some downloaded games from a friend,The ones on USB work, but the ones on DVDs don't work with my wii. He told me that i have to update the programme "Neogamma" we both use for the DVDs by installing the version 15. I downloaded it and the "cIOS38 rev15 installer" aswell separetelly. But when i try to install it on my wii it gives me an error message. I think i'm not saving properly on my SD card. How can i download the installer and install properly on my wii, to be able to play the games on DVDs
If anybody can help, i will be etenally gratefull, coz' i'm stressing really bad for several days.
    Thx very much

With a brand new Wii chances are high that you've got the D3-2 chip which prevents the drive from reading backup discs. This is probably why your discs aren't reading. There's no workaround for that and you'd have to load from usb.

cIOS38Rev15 was a bugged revision: Downgrade to rev14 or update to rev17.

You should check out the softmod guides in the Tutorials section. Find your firmware version in Wii Settings and follow the 3.1-4.1 guide or one of the 4.2 guides. You'll find the downloads and instructions you need in those guides.

Yep new wiis won't read copied games, USB is the way to go anyway. Never have to change a game and no choppy cutscenes.

Your better choice is USB HD. Failing this, you can replace the PCB/Logic board attached to the DVD drive from an older Wii and it'll work via disc. That or go WODE, pretty much your choices...

Usb loading using a WBFS manager. Check out the guides in the Tutorials section and read, read, read. This has been covered many, many times.
