    Updating & RFS Questions

Hi I am just new to wii modding/hacking... And I have some questions.

Do I have to uninstall the previous version of neogamma & other homebrew installers before I can install newer ones or I can directly install the newer versions w/o uninstalling the previous versions? Cause I found out that I am not using the latest version of neogamma and I want to update it.

And my last question is if I restore my wii to its factory/original settings, will my installed HBC & Apps disappear?

If your apps are stored as .dol files on the sd card just replace the old with the new. If you used wad manager to install the full application as a channel then installing the new version will write over the previous, but to be safe you can also uninstall the old one with wad manager first.

If you format the Wii's memory HBC and the apps might disappear, but it'll be hard to tell because your console will probably brick.

    Why would it brick?

Specifically I'm not sure which changes it makes, but there have been enough reports of formating the memory on a softmodded console to suggest that odds are good it'll brick.

Don't forget that when you modify your Wii you are adding things that were never intended by Nintendo to be on there so formatting, using a Nintendo designed process, can have variable results, sometimes leading to bricks and issues recovering.

I have a bootmii backup of my wii right after I used the Hackmii installer, and before any other hacks. Would restoring that backup and using Hackmii installer to uninstall things basically re-virginize my wii?

Only if you have bootmii/boot2 installed. Restoring a backup with Bootmii/IOS is a brilliant way to brick your Wii.

Yes, I have bootmii/boot2. That's the only catch, right? So I can re-virginize that way?
