Any way to patch ISO game region on 4.2E?

I've stupidly upgraded to 4.2E thinking it was the reason why some of my games didn't work. I have a Wasabi DX modchip and it's working fine, but now unfortunately half my backups won't load because they're NTSC and my console is PAL

I don't mind patching and burning them again, but Regionfrii doesn't seem to do much for it - they still won't load after patching.

As far as I could find out, there's no way to downgrade back from 4.2, so is there any way I can load my NTSC games on this console after upgrading?

what loader are you using to load the backup's... and are you DVD-r loading or USB... try to use the region settings in the loader to force PAL on the discs...

I don't use any loaders, just the Wasabi DX chipped console.

Most of my discs are Verbatim -R and I have some TDK -R as well.
They both worked fine on 3.4E, before I did the online update to 4.2E

Seeing as 4.2 was designed to block out of region backups it's fair to say that's why they won't work anymore. Until and unless the chip makers come up with firmware updates to fix this then you are stuck with your own region or softmodding.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

I would softmod with messies guide and then use neogamma or loader of choice to set the region for the disks and they should all work again...

I see. I thought there might be a patcher to turn an NTSC disc into a PAL disc and burn that to a new one, like the Regionfrii - which doesn't seem to work for me.

I guess I'll have to give softmodding a try, never done it before. I miss Guitar Hero and can't find a PAL version

have u tried generic wii patcher....its what i use to patch my games, no link for it off hand, but u can find it pretty easily, just get the gui ver of it. use wiiscrubber to extract the main.dol from the iso then patch the main.dol with generic wii patch....if that doesn't work doesn't the new preloader force regions, so maybe u could install it. pm me if u can find it, i can email it or something

If you burn an image of the disc (iso), then you can patch it using Wiu 1.1.
Very easy! Then burn the patched iso to a new disk.
