    Blue Light Beckons...

in the arrival of the weather channel, this morning i was woken up by the pulsating blue light telling me i had a message. Low and behold it was from nintendo informing me that i had to update the system to activate the new addition. At first i wondered why it didn't download by itself because i have WiiConnect24 on but meh,

The new channel is pretty cool it has the standard look of any weather website with the standard information for you area that you input. But it also has a global veiw which resembles Google earth you can zoom in but there is no satellite detail. That would have been cool. Anyways the new channel seems pretty cool although im not sure that the Wii is the first place id look for weather information. I guess they want people to see if it Wii weather (rainy/snowy) or get your ass outside and do something productive weather.

wells thats it, first glance at the new channel

Thats pretty cool. It would be neat if the map could show how many people were playing Wii in your state/country in real time.

Or even if it just displayed the location/mii icon of your contacts & whether or not they are currently online...

the wii channel's stars are not random. notice Orion's belt in the image
(its a winter constellation so you can see it now.)
look for others, theyre in accurate positions with relative magnitudes.

Wow. I never thought it would be so in depth.

It would also be cool if they could add in some overlays to the globe view - perhaps current cloud cover, high/low pressure systems, temperature gradient, etc.
