I thought I'd done it I can now get copied games to play...the thing is I am now trying to get the new super mario bros to work and someone said to use neogamma 7, I haven't installed this yet, do I need to?
Will I need to do the whole hacking thing thing again??
I'm a total noob at this only had a wii running for 3 days

I played it on neogamma7 also. I played the nitro pal release from usb, and the qwiif nstc release from disc after patching it using pet1's guide. Works like a champ. (my wii is nstc)

I really badly want to play that game..
To be honest I just about managed to hack the wii.... all this talk of patching and stuff is so confusing!! I wouldn't know where to start, never done nothing like that before...I'm from the UK so I have a PAL wii
I need to find a step-by-step dummies guide! lol...
It is a lot to take in. Usually games have names attatched to them when you download them like NITRO or QWIIF. These names are the name of the team or individuals who patched or obtained it. As far as patching goes, with my US release it's as simple as putting the game file in the same file as a patch, double clicking one thing, then burn and play it. Take a look at these two threads on the nsmb.

Yeah they are the ones I saw....left me confused as hell! what's the IOS 53 trucha bug? If I put it on will it brick my wii I didn't like playing with the IOS'S for the fear of bricking!

But I have a PAL not NTSC? sorry to be a pain I really appreciate your help!
You might have to mess with the video settings in neogamma to make it play in your region but it should work. Just patch the game like it says in the video and give it a shot.
BUT!!!!!!!!! Be sure you have a way to block disc updates. What firmware are you on and do you have preloader installed? If you run an out of region game that does an update to your system it will update you to another region and you will have a semi brick.

I updated from 3.1 to 4.0, how do I block updates? I don't think I have preloader..
I'm in the middle of installing preloader now...
