Us Wii Connect 24

ok, so im running a 4.1u wii softmodded, ect...games on hdd and what not...and recently i set up a wireless network just for my wii, now my question is this, can i turn on Wii Connect 24 and leave it on without it updating my system to 4.2, there by causing a bricked wii wii...if so, could someone let me know it would be wonderful lol...cause im trying to gather up some Wii friend codes since waiting in SSBB lobby is a forever fruitless adventure of me mercilessly molesting that poor no limbed sand bag i have dubbed "sand baggy"..any info would be helpful

Don't leave your Wii on Wii connect 24 or it will brick your Wii! You can still use Wii connect 24 just turn it off when you are finished or the big N can shwoop in when you least expect it, they WILL detect your modded wii and you WILL be BRICKED! Just a friendly WARNING.

I've had the Homebrew Channel since it came out. And my Wii is aways connected to WiiConnect24. I have never had any trouble with anything, but just to be on the safe side; You should keep it turned of whenever your not using it.. xD

So, while playing it, Nintendo "can possibly" brick me by trying to slip 4.2 on me?...i mean wouldn't there be a window to pop up asking "do you wish to update to 4.2?"...or does Nintendo just slap you down with the brickness lol

I'm not really sure..
But I don't think there is any way for them to update your entire system menu to a different version without you knowing it.. I suspect they will install hidden stuff on there, that will knock out your homebrew capability! But like I said in my previous post;
I have been using my Wii with the homebrew channel since its release about two years ago (I think?) and my Wii have been connected to WiiConnect24 almost constantly! And I have never had any problems with it.. Nothing has happened to me yet..

Us Ever heard of Xbox 360 users being banned?

Ya, the same thing can happen on the wii your online account banned and your wii BRICKED! Of course they won't be able to do it to everyone but it can happen. They may not be able to update you to 4.2 but they can brick your wii if they detect illegal modifications to your wii. They can't do it while you are playing and connected to wii connect 24 but if you leave the wii connect 24 on when you are finished playing and shut it off then go to sleep, in the morning it is possible to wake up to a bricked Wii just as easily as waking up to your wii flashing blue wanting to know if you want to update. You can do what ever you want but when I shut down my Wii I'll be turning of my Wii Connect 24 (24 means 24 hours a day 7 days a week Nintendo has an all access pass to your system)

Nintendo can't ban our wifi accounts.. I'm sure of this!
Their system isn't built like xBox or PS.. They can't ban individual consoles when they detect a modified application on there! That's impossible to do on their network system!

They can if they brick your Wii.
