God dammit battery juice got in my wiimote

Sorry if it is in the wrong section.

Some stupid battery leaked in my wii mote! There is weird stuff in the metal part! It's recently new so maybe I should clean it off? The brand name was like de dur or something (not duracell)

I am so mad right now. What would you people suggest on how to save it from being a bricked wiimote?

I will never use those batteries again- and they are new.

    I took them out btw

did you try recharging non-rechargeable batteries? cuz just standard AA batteryies can't be recharged cuz they will leak acid and could blow up if charged to long in some cases.

    corrosive?!?!
I didn't think it was that serious. I cleaned it with water and got it cleaned up as good as possible.

UGH I will use some q tips but what alcohol solution?
edit: Like I said i got it cleaned up at best at possible and the wiimote still works. There is like a very small spot of a stain now....

I will never buy that brand of battery again. They where very recently put in and new ones and they leaked.

    Never charged them or anything...
edit2: the brand is HEAVY DUTY RAVYOVAC TM MC
I will never buy them again.

edit3: I sent them a email regarding the wiimote problem.
    Hopefully they will reply?

Just an idea... if you use q tips with coca cola it will eat away any corrosion left over from battery acid. This is what you have to do when you have corrosion build up on the battery of a car. I would barely dampen the q tip (don't want to let any coke get into your remote) and after all of the acid it broken up clean it with a q tip with damp windex that is ammonia free. (That's the trick to getting old nes games to play w/o beating the shit out of the console, too.)
