Quality of Wii on HDTV?

Something that I've read is that the Wii looks really bad on an HDTV. Can you guys support or deny this statement?

I think that would be a big detractor for me... I have a nice HDTV and I love the way the 360 looks on it. I'd be sad to get a Wii and find out it looked lousy :(

I currently watch SDTV on my HDTV and if my Wii looked like that I wouldn't be too impressed (but not too depressed either).

You would have to get the component cables for it to look decent on HDTV, they are not included. Untill they fix the strap issue i wouldnt play it on the big HDTV yet lol :p

dbigham, If you run the 360 in normal 480 how much of a difference does it look in high def? Is it night and day? or a bit better?

You got that right. I was in one of the wholesale clubs yesterday and they had a Wii set up as a working display. The Wiimote was on a steel cable and the tv screen had a white gouge on it from the Wiimote. You would think the person who set it up would have made the cable a Wii bit shorter than the distance to the tv set. :rolleyes:

lol....but, that would require logic.....and during the holiday season and long work hours sales clerks lose all ability to think on their own lol.

My friend has a really nice HDTV aswell, and when we played the wii on his tv it looked pretty much identical to how it looks on my plain old television. Not that the wii looks "bad" or anything, its just that there isnt any real change in graphics depending on your tv. But remember the wii isn't all about being amazing graphically, its all about having fun playing games in an innovative new way!
