ask about Wii SD card slot

    hi , i have a problem here

My Wii SD card slot is broken , there a part of it is break [ in right side ] .
When I put the SD card into it, no sound click, just straight into it , so Wii do not read my SD card

what i want to ask , is it possible to replace the broken SD card slot with the new one ?

Anything's possible but you'd need a donor SD slot. Something like that might be difficult to source and fit.

It might be better to try and fix the slot. If it's only a damaged or bent pin it should be possible to get it back correctly and then fit a SD adaptor into the slot and swap out microsd or minisd cards instead.

Usually this is caused by people trying to jam the SD card in backwards.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

    Tealc,

I ever tell you the time I just got done putting WiiRadio on my SD card? I was getting ready to go to bed and the lights were off. I went to my wii and poped open the cover for the sd slot and remote synch button. I popped my sd card in the wii and there was no click or resistance... I was like that was a little too easy... Come to find out i put my sd card in the dvd disc tray...

They should have little lights around the slot, those SD cards are in and out of those slots far too often these days.

Did the SD work in the DVD slot? How'd you get it back out?

I originally want to open up the system and pull it out of the dvd tray. When i didnt have the correct screwdriver I stuck the screwdriver i did have in the disc slot and shook the wii out of frustration and it just fell out

Google may have some help for you but I doubt it.

Find someone with a donor Wii and examine it.

If you cannot fix the slot, you could try using the USB to a HDD. If you have a backup of the directory structure of the SD you could copy that onto your HDD. install USB Loader as a forwarder, from the HDD, most things work SD/USB so might be a solution.

well , actually i can use Flash Disk / Card reader via USB slot in wii .
i can use many apps in SD [ geckos , softchip , etc ] but the main problem is my wii doesn't load my bootmii as boot2 from USB slot
that why i ask about SD card slot replacement

maybe you know how to load Bootmi as boot2 via USB ?
