    Question Bootmii confusion

I have decided to upgrade to 4.1 finally (using, of course, the excellent guide in recommended guides / tutorials). But to be on the safe side, I want to be able to recover should I somehow fuck up.
(BTW, I have DC2Pro, so I guess I should be kinda safe from bricking?)

I could not install the boot2 thingy, so I guess I can only load Bootmii from HBC. Now, what bootmii does is to backup your system settings, right? So if you get bricked and have boot2, you could just load boot2 and recover the system to an earlier date where it was not bricked.

This begs the question of course, if you need access to HBC, what is the point of bootmii? A brick turns your Wii experience into a blackscreen from which there is no escape (I assume, no firsthand experience here), so you can not perform the necessary recovery, since access to HBC is denied.

Second question, if bootmii is installed, I can move the files and save in a folder in my computer and they need not be present on my SD card, correct? And these files would be the bootmii folder with the files armboot.bin, ppcboot.elf and bootmii.ini as well as a nand.bin file?
Also, since the bootmii reformats (?) your SD card and relabels it "backupmii" will it destroy the information already contained on the SD card required to launch HBC? Should I run bootmii and then switch SD-card to a new, empty SD-card?

How do these things work anyways???
Is there anything else I can use to backup my system and recover it with should I mess up?

Also, or perhaps a better question than any of the previous, lets assume you were me and wanted to take extra precaution steps before upgrading to (the hacked) 4.1, considering my hardware / software stats (3.2 E homebrew, DC2Pro) how would you go about it?

    Grateful for answers

Some people say if you have BootMii as an IOS and you have preloader, when you brick you use preloader to get in to the HBC and use that to get in to BootMii. From there a few people have stated they have been able to restore their nands. Not sure if it works but you may want to muck around with it

Indeed but, but we stress out that it is very very risky...

    install bootmii as boot2
back up the NAND in SDcard and put it in a locked safe...lol
with "the" SDcard back in "the" bricked Wii, boot2 will hunt for the nand.bin
    proceed recovery as is
