Movies on Wii

Hi all, I have followed the thread on instaling homebrew and have got it on my Wii now.

Just a couple of questions if i may?:

1, do i have to have my SD card in all the time?

2, how on earth do i watch a movie from my USB stick like i can on my XBOX 360??

I need some help.

I got my Wii modded from a freind of a freind.
I dont know whathe did.ButI do have homebrew and uloader on there.

He told me I am able to watch movies off a SD card...I put a divx movie .avi file and I dont even know how to watch it.I checked the photo album and it wouldnt play.
hat am I doing wrong?
any help would be most grateful.
